The Banana Industry in Saint Lucia was once the driving force of the economy. So much so, Saint Lucia’s national dish is Green Banana and Saltfish. Because of its abundance and availability, Green Banana was cheap and easily accessible. Green Banana is packed with nutrients and was a “go to” food for the underprivileged. Farmers across the board are asking for assistance in order to revive the volatile industry. “Green Gold,” tells the story of a 70-year-old Banana Farmer who believes that the Banana Industry can flourish with the necessary interventions.
